Robert started Butler Engineering & Land Surveying in May of 1992, after working as a Civil Engineer for 19 years. Robert has 35 years experience as a licensed engineer designing bridges. He has designed over 130 bridges ranging in size from county road canal bridges to large 400+ ft. highway bridges crossing large rivers. He has provided technical assistance to several construction companies building major bridges in Arizona, California, and Idaho.
Throughout the last 18 years, he has designed 20+ bridges for Bingham County, including the Snake River Bridge at Firth, Idaho; 11 bridges for Fremont County, 4 bridges for Jefferson County; 12 bridges for the Minidoka County Highway District; 2 bridges for Franklin County; 4 for Cassia County; 2 pedestrian bridges on the Portneuf River Greenway; and 3 private bridges including the Gimlet Road Bridge. In designing bridges he uses current AASHTO specifications and the procedures outlined in the ITD Bridge Design Manual.
Anthony Koon Professional Engineer - Idaho License No. 10386
With training and experience in concrete and steel design and construction inspection, Anthony is a key employee at Butler. He is fluent in standard computer software design programs. Koon has a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures, Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Bachelors of Science in Forest Products with an emphasis in engineering and harvesting.
Anthony has been at Butler Engineering & Land Surveying, Inc., since November 1998. He has expertise in concrete and steel structure design and analysis, especially bridges, hydraulic analysis product development – plans, specifications, estimates. He oversees construction inspection and serves as project manager for construction survey, stakeout, and calculations.
Tony recently served as project manager for the Jackson Bridge Removal Project for Minidoka County Highway District and the Burley Highway District.
